Community and Family Services Inc. will start accepting calls on Sept. 7 for appointments to be scheduled for the upcoming Energy Assistance Program that begins on Oct. 5.
This heating assistance program helps income-eligible households with an energy burden with a one-time credit on the heat and electric utility bills. The program is scheduled to run through May 13, 2011, or until funds are depleted.
There is an income guideline to determine who qualifies, and it includes a gross annual income for the family size; one-person family, $16,245; two-person family, $21,855; three-person family, $27,465; four-person family, $33,075.
For each additional member, add $5,610.
