Trinity United Methodist Church is, for the sixth year, collecting black walnuts as a fund-raiser to benefit the Huntington Free Health clinic, which is located in the church's basement.

Over the past five years, 62,034 pounds of nuts have been gathered, raising $6,335.

This year, the nuts are expected to bring about 10 cents a pound.

Members of the community are invited to participate in the fund-raiser by picking up walnuts from area trees or from their yards.

The walnuts may be brought to the church in buckets, baskets or boxes, but not plastic bags.

Collection bags are available at the church.

The nuts will be accepted in Trinity's east parking lot on the five Saturdays in October - Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 - from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The church is located at Market and Guilford streets.
