The Forks of the Wabash Chapter of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) participated in an after-work celebration of past and present business women on Sept. 22 at Mecates Mexican Restaurant.

Many talented women from the corporate world, history, popular music, ABWA National, and the Forks of the Wabash Chapter were recognized.

Members who played a significant role in the success of the evening were Vonnie Hoover, of STAR Insurance; Michelle Crone, of Wells Fargo Bank; Marj Hiner, former owner of Hiner Transport; Kathy Moon, retired from Wells Fargo Insurance; Sharon Eutsler, of Designs by Sharon E; Pam Felix, of BrainStomp computer systems; Angie Rittenhouse, of Bippus State Bank; and Ann Lesperance, of Superior Auto Inc.

Laptops were available to provide the opportunity to log on to ABWA National's Women's Instructional Network (WIN). The network offers trainings, networking, a way to contact National's leaders, blogging, and more. The network is available to all members in good standing, most of the trainings are free, and awards can be earned by completing classes.

Kathy Moon and Sharon Eutsler are organizing the upcoming bus trip to Chicago on Nov. 13. Seating on the bus will be limited to 55, and anyone may attend. To make a reservation, e-mail kmoon@only internet.net or sgeutsler @att.net to secure a seat.

Women interested in ABWA are invited to attend the next meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Victory Noll Center. Meetings start at 6:30 p.m., with a meal provided free to first-time guests.
