Spring clean-up in Warren will be held May 4-9

Spring cleanup days in Warren will be held May 4-9.

Warren residents can bring large household items to the town's utility garage, 316 W. 2nd St., Monday through Friday, May 4 through 8, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and on Saturday, May 9, from 8 a.m. to noon. Residents should plan on unloading the items themselves, although help with unloading may be available sporadically.

Tires, refrigerators and freezers will not be accepted. Those items may be delivered to the Huntington Landfill, and there is a fee for disposal at the landfill. The landfill is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on the first Saturday of each month from 8 to 11:30 a.m.

Also not accepted are hazardous waste, including paint, batteries, propane, antifreeze, oil, fluorescent lights, microwaves, computers and chemically treated lumber. Those items may be delivered to the hazardous waste collection site at the Huntington Landfill. The hazardous waste collection site is open each Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on the first Saturday of each month from 8 to 11:30 a.m.

For residents cleaning up their yards, leaves and twigs - not in bags - may be delivered to the compost pile near the town's utility garage.

Small branches and limbs may be placed on the curb to be picked up by town employees or delivered to the designated area at the utility garage.
