Literacy coalition offers training to its potential literacy tutors

The Huntington County Literacy Coalition is offering training for individuals interested in becoming literacy tutors.

Training is scheduled to start in March. Tutors are volunteers who provided one-to-one tutoring for adults in Huntington County. Student goals range from learning to read, passing a particular class, learning English as a second language or preparing to take the GED test.

There is no cost for training and materials are provided. Tutors are asked to commit to one year of tutoring.

Those interested are asked to call Literacy Coordinator Hallie Selig by Feb. 4 with possible days for training.

Selig can be contacted at 356-0824.
