The Little River Wetlands Project and ACRES Land Trust closed on the purchase of more than 50 acres of land owned by the Historic Forks of the Wabash on Thursday, Feb. 17. The purchase includes most of the Forks' land east of Ind.-9, and LRWP and ACRES plan to keep the parcel open to the public. The selling price was $58,000, which will help fund the Forks' new building project. Signing the closing documents are (from left) Steven Hammer, president of ACRES; Jason Kissel, executive director of ACRES; Ann Hollar, secretary of the Forks; Jack Sell, president of the Forks; Vicki Pearson, of Lime City Title Services; and Sean Nolan and Thom Maher, both representing the LRWP.
