Philip A. Zahm, a reserve officer from the Huntington County Sheriff’s Department, enlisted in the Indiana Army National Guard recently.
Zahm joined the Sheriff Departments Reserve Program in February of 2020. He joined after coming off of active duty Army “because of his strong will to help the community” and to “follow his father’s footsteps.”
Zahm wanted to continue helping his community by joining the Indiana Army National Guard. “I’ve always wanted to join the National Guard. My father served for 21 years and retired after his deployment to Iraq. Ever since I’ve wanted to wear the same unit patch on my shoulder,” he said.
Anyone who is interested in learning how to join the Indiana Army National Guard may reach out to SSG Randy Jackson at 414-9850.
