Part owner of Bear and Beak Bakery, Sharon Metzger, commented about the recent event on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022, Christmas in the City. Kyle and Sharon Metzger have owned and operated this local Huntington business for approximately a year and six months. They are a true brick and mortar establishment having recently purchased the downtown building located at 37 Washington Street in Huntington. “Tons of families came through our bakery and visited the sites downtown on Saturday,” said Sharon Metzger. “The weather was lovely.” Sharon, dressed as Elsa, character from the movie ‘Frozen’, joined in the fun. “I wasn’t able to get an individual to portray the character.” Said Sharon. “I have blond hair so I did it myself, and I had a blast.” The Metzgers kept their downtown bakery open until 6 p.m. and then joined the attendees for the tree lighting event. Christmas in the City and community involvement was important to this business and its owners. “We appreciate the great support from the community.” Said Sharon “We more than doubled our sales that day.” Sharon, AKA Elsa, commented she can’t wait for next year to do it again.
