Former Huntington County TAB columnist Donna Brown passed away Monday, May 8, at River Terrace in Bluffton. She was 95. Mrs. Brown wrote news about her hometown of Markle for the TAB for 38 years. She also wrote for the Bluffton News Banner and the Advertiser. She retired from the TAB in November 2022. “We appreciate Donna’s love for her community and her desire to spread the good news of the town to others in the area,” TAB General Manager Joseph Slacian said. “She had many talents, and she enjoyed sharing that talent with others.” Mrs. Brown was born in Huntington on Sept. 12, 1927, a daughter of Milward and Mary Overholt. She married Doyle Brown on Jan. 12, 1947 in Markle. She and Doyle performed music at various community events and nursing homes. She also was known for her cooking. Survivors include a son, Robert Brown of Markle, and two daughters, Lynne Brown of Kendallville and George Whitehurst of Tampa, Fla. Services were Tuesday morning at the Markle Church of Christ. Myers Funeral Home, Markle, handled arrangements.
