HCTPL to host pumpkin contest

The Huntington City-Township Public Library will sponsor a pumpkin decorating contest, open to individuals, families, groups and clubs of all ages.

Decorated pumpkins may be brought to the Huntington main library, 255 W. Park Drive in Huntington, or the Markle branch library, 197 E. Morse St., Markle, between Oct. 19 and Oct. 23.

Pumpkins should not be carved, but can be decorated with markers, paints, yarn, cloth, hats and other items.

Pumpkins will be judged by library patrons on Oct. 24 and awards will be presented for funniest, most unusual, most colorful, prettiest, cutest, scariest and best overall. Separate winners will be named at each location, and winners will be notified on Oct. 26.

The pumpkins can be picked up and taken home on Oct. 29. Pumpkins must be picked up no later than Oct. 31 at 7 p.m.
For information, call the Huntington library at 356-2900 or the Markle library at 758-3332.
