Richard Hinton, of Warren, placed third in the men's open division of the Indiana State Corn Husking Championship.

The competition was held Oct. 6 in rural Bremen.

Hinton husked 139.78 pounds of corn during the 20-minute competition.

His division was won by Steven Schuman, of Columbia City, who husked 167.40 pounds of corn.
