Bethel window back to former glory

When one of the large stained glass windows at Bethel United Methodist Church, in Huntington, was damaged in a windstorm, Kealy Skinner, owner of Country Panes Stained Glass, took on the job of restoring it to its former glory.

Repairing the battered nine-foot by five and a half-foot window wasn't simple, says Skinner.

"For the last pretty much month and a half I spent tearing the window apart, replacing broken glass, changing all the lead and then soldering it back together," she says.

On Thursday, Nov. 15, Skinner and her staff reinstalled the window at the church.

"I've been doing stained glass since 2004 and we recently got into starting to do church window repair if they've gotten broken or damaged over the years," she says. "I'd like to start repairing them. This one was my first."
