Fifth grader Emily Daas, daughter of Joel and Jane Daas, is spelling bee champion at Flint Springs Elementary School for the 2012-13 school year.

Daas correctly spelled the word "enact" in the 22nd round of the bee to clinch the title.

Runner-up was fifth- grader Bailey Godfrey, daughter of Brett and Cyndi Godfrey.
