The Huntington County Genealogy Society will hold its first meeting of the year on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m.

The meeting will be held in the Indiana Room at the Huntington City-Township Public Library.

Robert Schmidt, from the Canal Society of Indiana will be the guest speaker.

The Canal Society participates in current canal projects and related issues, with the objective of defining the potential for trail and linear park development. The society also supports local groups that work to achieve canal preservation and restoration.

The library is located at 255 W. Park Drive, Huntington.
