Bob and Leslie Zahm and Travis and Linzy Lahr attended the National Pony of the Americas Convention (POAC) in Lexington, KY, Feb. 28 through March 2.

The Zahms' and Lahrs' Pony of America filly, J Bar J's Sweet Art Kidd, was awarded a plaque and a monogrammed vest for being named National Champion Pony of America Yearling Filly.

The filly, whose barn name is Maddie, is owned and shown by the two couples. She was shown 34 times in 2012, earning 546 national points with 13 overall grand champion mare wins.

Maddie earned her Register of Merit (ROM) in halter by receiving 500 or more points in halter classes.

Animals receive points through their placing at Pony of the Americas approved shows.
The filly was featured on the front cover of the February Pony Of the Americas National magazine.

The national convention included several committee meetings and a general membership meeting, in addition to tours of the Kentucky Horse Park, Secretariats Thoroughbred Center, Keenland Track and a tour of the Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital.
