Walgreens in Huntington will be collecting unused or expired medication for safe disposal on Friday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Pharmacy Manager Robin Baker says the event is an attempt to take old drugs out of circulation.
"Residents can bring in all the medication they didn't use and we will take care of it for them," she says.
She adds that the initiative is a combined effort.
"The drug disposal day is sponsored by the Huntington County Prescription Abuse Task Force, which is chaired by our coroner, Phil Zahm," Baker states.
A second disposal date, also sponsored by the task force will be held later, she adds.
Residents can also drop off medication at the Warren Fire Station on April 26, during the same hours.
Walgreens in Huntington is located at 1804 N. Jefferson St.
