Jonathan Rentschler of Huntington has been awarded the 2013 Dave Reeves Athletic Scholarship through the Huntington County Community Foundation.

Rentschler, a graduating senior at Huntington North High School, plans to attend either Evangel University or Olivet Nazarene University to major in education or Biblical studies. He is the son of Susan and Don Rentschler.

Rentschler, a National Honor Society member, threw the discus and shot put for the HNHS track and field team and also was a lineman on the football team. He has been a 4-H member and Junior Leader, participated in the HNHS variety show and was a member of the Future Educators of America. His community service includes Operation Backyard, 4-H and Youth Leadership Academy.

Established in 2004 by Marsha Reeves, the Dave Reeves Athletic Scholarship was created to celebrate Dave's love for the athletes he worked with over the years and to help a male or female thrower with educations costs.
