3 earn Breiner USF scholarships

The Huntington County Community Foundation announces that Nicole Shaw of Warren, Kelly Ditzler of Huntington and Alexandra Meyer of Huntington have been awarded 2013 Breiner Family University of Saint Francis Scholarships.
Shaw, a 2008 graduate from Huntington North, will graduate in May 2014 from the University of Saint Francis with a Master's Degree in nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).

She is the daughter of Susan Denman, of Warren, and Todd Shaw, of Columbia City.

Shaw is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the National Honor Society of Nursing, and volunteers at the Fort Wayne Charis House Clinic and the Community Harvest Food Bank.

Ditzler, a 2011 graduate of Huntington North, is a junior at the University of Saint Francis majoring in radiologic technology.

She is the daughter of Gina and Jim Ditzler.

Ditzler is the captain of the cross country and track teams at USF and volunteers to assist runners after Fort 4 Fitness races, as well as tutoring anatomy students at USF.

Her hope is to gain membership in Lambda Nu National Honor Society for radiologic and imaging sciences.

Meyer, a 2012 graduate of Huntington North, is a sophomore at the University of Saint Francis majoring in chemistry.

Her career aspirations are to become a chemist and work in a research laboratory.

Meyer is on the dean's list at USF and a member of the pep and jazz Bands. She is also on the Residence Hall Activity Board.

Jim and Nancy Breiner both graduated from the University of Saint Francis. They established this scholarship to help students attending the school.
