Registration for the summer reading club at the Andrews-Dallas Township Public Library begins on June 1.
The club, following the theme "Groundbreaking Reads," continues through July 20. Groups are available for infants through adults, and each participant qualifies for prizes by reaching specific reading milestones.
The youngest participants, those from birth through age 3, will participate in simple early literacy activities with an adult. They earn a prize for every 10 activities and a free book for each 50 activities.
Readers ages 3-14 will receive a prize for every two hours of reading and a free book after completing five reading logs. Teens ages 14-18 will receive a prize for every two hours of reading and a free book after reading 10 hours.
Adults receive a prize for every book and a free book after reading five books.
The library will be handing out free books on Saturday, June 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the library basement. The books are provided by Friends of the Library.
The book club is just one of the activities to be offered at the Andrews library this summer.
