Bethesda Free Will Baptist Church, in Andrews, broke ground on April 14 for a new sanctuary. Ready with their shovels are (from left) Deacon Cecil Thornsberry; Deacon Phillip Hamilton; Rev. Bobby Adkins and Rev. Rolla Blair, both retired pastors; Rev. Matthew Snodderly, pastor; Deacon Dean Harris; and Deacon Karl Shockome. Construction of the 50-foot by 74-foot sanctuary began on May 15, and the building is expected to be ready for use this summer. The existing church building, which wraps around two sides of the addition in an L shape, will continue to be used as a fellowship hall and for youth and other activities. The church is located at 116 S. Main St., in Andrews.
