Freedom on Main features 2 FW groups

The Heartland Chamber Chorale and Heartland Jazz Orchestra will provide an evening of patriotic music during the annual Freedom on Main celebration on Wednesday, July 3, in downtown Roanoke.

The chorale, organized in 1997 and based in Fort Wayne, features director Robert Nance and 26 professional singers from northeast Indiana. Its concert of patriotic and American music begins at 8 p.m.

Pre-concert entertainment will be provided by End Game, a rock and roll band.

Members of Cub Scout Pack 3131 will serve as color guard, with families from Roanoke Elementary School acting as ushers.

United States Rep. Marlin Stutzman, R-3, will open the concert with a patriotic address. Stutzman's wife, Christy Stutzman, will sing the national anthem.

Gates open at 6 p.m. A barbecue dinner will be available in the Joseph Decuis food tent. Area restaurants and shops will also be open during the evening. Chairs are provided, with seating available on a first come, first served basis.
