The Huntington County Veterans Council and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources' Roush Fish and Wildlife Area will sponsor a dove hunt for disabled veterans and other interested veterans who like to hunt.

The event is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 1, from noon to 6 p.m.

Plans are being made to have a designated field for veterans with 10 stations. Each station will serve two veteran hunters.

Disabled veterans who are mobility challenged will be paired with a veteran who can serve as a guide.

Guides will also be able to hunt.

A tailgate lunch and cold drinks will be provided the day of the hunt.

A range day for practice is scheduled at the Roush Lake Firing Range on Sunday, Aug. 25, at noon.

Reservations can be made by calling 358-4863.

First priority will be given to disabled veterans, but all veterans are welcome to help fill the stations.
