Billy L. Ottinger, 80, of Columbia City, IN, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012.

Mr. Ottinger was a farmer and had worked at GE for 25 years.

He was born May 27, 1932, in Jefferson Township, Whitley County, to Haven and Fay Fairchild Ottinger. He married Shirley Ann Hyser on Oct. 24, 1953, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Columbia City. His wife preceded him in death on June 4, 2009.

Survivors include three daughters, Gloria (David) Pequignot, Patricia (Mark) Pequignot and Julie (Eric) Blakley; four sons, Terry Ottinger, Randy (Cheryl) Ottinger, Mark Ottinger and Todd (Diane) Ottinger; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke. A service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Saturn Christian Church, 6731E-800S, Columbia City. Rev. Russell D. Riley will officiate. Burial will be at Jefferson Chapel Cemetery, Whitley County.
