Robert Eugene Ray, 90, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Miller's Merry Manor, in Huntington.

Mr. Ray graduated from Bippus High School in 1940. He served in World War II as a staff sergeant in the United States Army. He worked as a foreman at Majestic of Huntington, retiring in 1978. He was a member of American Legion Post 7 and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, both in Huntington.

He was born April 18, 1922, in Wabash to Clyde and Lurlie Brown Ray. He married Lillian Mae Millington on Nov. 11, 1985, in Huntington. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include three sons, Joe (Cindy) Ray and Tom Ray, both of Indianapolis, and Jerry (LaVonne) Ray, of Coal City; four daughters, Laura (Eugene) Mahon and Becky (Richard) Herring, both of Shelbyville; Barbara Pinkston, of Aabama; and Roberta (Tom) Kattau, of Indianapolis; three stepdaughters, Joyce Ann Mollette and Berniece Lorraine (Terry) Shenefield, both of Huntington, and Janet LuRae (Charles) Spencer, of Zanesville; three stepsons, Johnathon (Nancy) Wheeler, of Columbus, OH; Timothy Allen Wheeler, of Huntington; and Roger Dale (Mary E.) Wheeler, of New Haven; a sister, Louise Wohlford, of Bippus; 20 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at 10 a.m., with Keith White officiating. Burial will be at Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington, with military services by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, Huntington.

Preferred memorials are gifts to the First Church of the Nazarene Jesus Film Ministries in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary.
