Betty A. Amato, 85, of Huntington, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at 4:03 p.m. at her granddaughter's home.

Mrs. Amato graduated from Bowling Green (OH) High School in 1944 and from Bowling Green College in 1946. She retired from Square D Corporation and was a member of New Hope United Brethren Church.

She was born Sept.1, 1927, in North Baltimore, OH, to Harley Earl and Millie Rosina Laytart Dannenberger.

Survivors include a son, David G. (Renee) Dishong, of Bryan, OH; a daughter, Barbara (Dennnis) Butler, of Bluffton; a sister, Ruth Sakel, of Perrysburg, OH; a son-in-law, Michael Bechtel Sr., of Huntington; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Calling is Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington. A service will be held on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the New Hope United brethren Church, 2001 Engle St., Huntington, with Rev. Ray Seilhamer officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
