Robert W. Emmons, 84, of Huntington, IN, died Monday morning, Nov. 19, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Emmons had been employed by Fisher Body, Marion, for 30 years. He was a member of Union Church and ministered to residents at The Heritage of Huntington. He served two tours with the United States Navy.

He was born March 13, 1928, in Kosciusko County to DeVon and Gladys Dick Emmons. He married Edna DeHaven on June 22, 1987, in Huntington. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Jody Montgomery, of Andrews; a stepdaughter, Marilyn (Dennis) Sonner, of Columbia City; a son, Dave (Janie) Emmons, of Cove City, NC; nine grandchildren, Michel, Michele, Marisa, Megan, Chantel, Selene, Kelly, Caleb and Cora; two stepgrandchildren, Stacie and Andrea; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a service following at 1 p.m., at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington. Interment will be at Mt. Etna Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are gifts to the American Lung Association in care of the funeral home.
