Mildred Mae Canvin, 94, of Findlay, OH, and a former resident of Huntington, IN, died Saturday Dec. 1, 2012, at 2:56 a.m. at Fox Run Manor, in Findlay.

Mrs. Canvin was a graduate of Kenton High School and Huntington College. She was a homemaker and had taught in Huntington schools. She was a member of St. Peter's First Community Church, Huntington.

She was born June 5, 1918, in Hardin County, OH, to Hugh E. and Effie B. Glock Hatcher. She married John Melvin "Mel" Canvin on June 19, 1948. Her husband preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1999.

Survivors include a daughter, Cathy (Larry) Dunfee, of Findlay, OH; two granddaughters, Lisa (Jeff) Householder, of Bowling Green, OH, and Amy Dunfee, of Columbus, OH; and three great-grandsons.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at 10:30 am. at St. Peter's First Community Church Cemetery, Huntington, with Rev. Richard Strick officiating.

Preferred memorials are gifts to St. Peter's First Community Church, 206 Etna Ave., Huntington, IN 46750.
