Joseph Yencer Jr., 65, of Zanesville, IN, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at 6 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Yencer served in the United States Army for 23 years. He worked for TI Automotive as a forklift operator. He was chairman of the Northeast Area Indiana Dancing Association and was publicity chairman of the Indiana Round and Square Dance Convention.

He was born on Nov. 6, 1947, in Montpelier to Joseph Sr. and Rose Beeks Yencer. He married Charlotte Best on May 7, 1988, at the Zanesville United Methodist Church. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Justin (Elizabeth) Best, of Monroeville, and Ricky (Angie) Schneider, of Bluffton; four daughters, Rebecca (Paul) Schneider-Smith, of Columbus, OH; Machelle (Kevin) Smeltzer, of Bluffton; and Peggy Phillips and Rita (Michael) Wickey, both of Zanesville; four brothers, Frank (Sandy) Yencer, of Liberty Center; Jerry Yencer, of Montpelier; Jim (Kim) Yencer, of Bluffton; and Donnie (Niki) Yencer, of Hartford City; three sisters, Patricia (Ron) Ferguson, of Fort Wayne; Beth Fritts, of Talequah, OK; and Donna (Tony) Mills, of Montpelier; and 16 grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Larry Sprinkle officiating. Interment will be at Hoverstock Cemetery, Zanesville.
