Melvin L. Fouts Jr., 59, of Columbia City, IN, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Fouts attended school in Pierceton and had lived in Columbia City since the 1980s. He was employed part time at the YMCA and was a member of the Columbia City United Methodist Church.

He was born June 6, 1953, in Huntington to Melvin Leon and Lena Jane Waters Fouts.

Survivors include two brothers, Gary W. Fouts and David J. (Sheila) Smith, both of Columbia City; and two sisters, Jane (David) Dotson, of Pierceton, and Bonnie (David) Krebs, of Warsaw.

Calling is on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a service following at 7 p.m., at Smith & Sons funeral Home, 207 N. Main St., Columbia City.
