Lenorah "Waneta" Slagel, 89, of Andrews, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 2:30 a.m. at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Mrs. Slagel was a homemaker.

She was born Aug. 5, 1923, in Allen County to Samuel and Sarah Miller Berry. She married Merrill C. Slagel on June 14, 1946, in Wabash County. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1985.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth E. (Tammy) Slagel, of Andrews, and Keith Slagel, of Huntington; three sisters, Emma Taylor, of Phoenix, AZ, and Iris Whitesell and Martha Hartwig, both of Huntington; two brothers, Harold (Nora) Berry and Charles (Donna) Berry, both of Huntington; and ex-daughter-in-law Sara Sumwalt of Huntington; five grandchildren, Sean Slagel, Angie Delucca, Heather Partridge, Leighann Morales and Martha Morales; and nine great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, from 10 a.m. to noon, with the service immediately following, at Deal-Rice Funeral Home- Huntington Chapel, 338 E. Washington St., Huntington. Rev. Wally Morris will officiate. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory.
