Max E. Paul, 86, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at his home.
Mr. Paul was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Rhineland Campaign in Germany during World War II and earning the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, Huntington.
He owned the Empire Cigar Store, Huntington, from 1950 to 1991 and had previously worked at the Caswell-Runyan Cabinet Company in Huntington.
He was born Feb. 12, 1926, in Huntington County to Orville and Edith Young Paul. He married Betty Logan on Dec. 15, 1956, in Huntington. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Debra Paul and Lori Paul, both of Huntington; and a sister, Lois Landrum, of Huntington.
There will be no calling or service.
