Doris D. Smith, 78, of Van Buren, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at 2:23 p.m. at her home.

Mrs. Smith had been employed by the Appliance Manufacturing Company, Van Buren, and RCA, Marion. She had also served as administrator of the Ivy Tech campus in Marion.

She was born May 20, 1934, in Thorntown to Chester "John" and Grace Cole. She married Lynn Smith, who preceded her in death in 1995 after 39 years of marriage.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Stroup, of Bloomington, and Rhonda (Richard) Cromas, of Frazier Park, CA; two sons, David (Julie) Smith, of Upland, and Randall (Cheryl) Smith, of Van Buren; two brothers, Jay (Marie) Cole, of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Roger (Janet) Cole, of Orange, CA; nine grandchildren, Amy (Jay) Ross, of Upland; Aaron (Brandi) Smith and Donald (Casie) Isaac, both of Marion; Truby (Virginia) Isaac and Kalem Isaac, both of Fairmount; Kira Smith and Cory Smith, both of Huntington; Ashley Simpson, of Norman, OK; and Thomas Smith, of Van Buren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, March 12, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a service following at 7 p.m., at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home, West Main Street, Van Buren. Victoria Thompson will officiate.
