J. Leon Wayne Simmons, 77, of Huntington, IN, died Monday morning, March 18, 2013, at the Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Simmons worked at Huntington Laboratories for more than 40 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of The Well United Brethren in Christ Church, in Huntington.

He was born Dec. 18, 1935, in Flintville, TN, to John and Minnie Norris Simmons. He married Janet L. Campbell on Oct. 7, 1955, in Huntington. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Lloyd Simmons, of Andrews, and Steven Simmons, of Chicago, IL; a daughter, Debra Simmons, of Huntington; three grandchildren, Zachary Simmons and Mylee Prilamon, both of Huntington, and Heather Simmons, of Indianapolis; and two great-grandchildren.

Calling is Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Josh Kesler officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington.
