Mark E. Sunderman, 83, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at 4:35 a.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Sunderman graduated in 1948 from Jefferson Township High School and served in the United States Army. He retired in 1992 from Indiana Bell/AT&T, in Huntington, and had previously worked for Public Service Indiana, in Huntington. He had been a member of Jefferson Center United Methodist Church, now part of Solid Rock United Methodist Church, for more than 70 years.
He was born Feb. 8, 1930, in Warren to Rufus and Hazel Buzzard Sunderman. He married Jacquelyn Goslee on Nov. 26, 1953, at Jefferson Center United Methodist Church, in Warren. She preceded him in death on April 26, 2008.
Survivors include two daughters, Teresa "Teri" (David Uttermohlen) Sunderman, of Granger, and Joan (Goven) Sunderman-Martinez, of Hyattsville, MD; a son, Steven M. (Sally Michel) Sunderman, of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Lisa, Amanda, Michael, Tom and Lauren; and three great-grandchildren.
Calling is Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Kathy Newton will officiate. Burial will be at Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County.
