Marceline "Marty" Thompson, 90, of Titusville, FL, and a native of Mt. Etna, IN, died Friday, Oct.11, 2013, in Titusville.
Mrs. Thompson graduated from North Side High School, Fort Wayne. She had been employed by Magnavox, Dandee's and Max's Grog Shop and served as a cafeteria supervisor at St. Joseph Hospital. She had lived in Fort Wayne for 58 years before moving to Florida.
She was born Oct. 25, 1922, in Mt. Etna to Rev. Edward and Louretta Smithee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Thompson.
Survivors include a daughter, Clarissa Baker, of Cocoa, FL; three sons, David (Cheryl) Smith and Travis Smith, both of Fort Wayne, and Roger (Diane) Smith, of Lake Wales, FL; two brothers, Jim (Marlene) Smithee, of Phoenix, AZ, and Robert Smithee, of Fairmount; a sister, Patricia Moon, of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren, Stacey Grashoff, Jenny Hardy, Jessica Gammon, Brandon Baker, Jason Smith, Trevor Smith, Brandon West, Karina Dellacalce and Kimberly Wisinski; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Calling is Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., Fort Wayne. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service.
