Dennis E. Dolby

Dennis E. Dolby, 72, of Warsaw, IN, and a former resident of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at 2:40 p.m. at Kosciusko Community Hospital.

Mr. Dolby graduated in 1960 from Huntington High School and served in the United States Navy. He was a 20-year veteran of the Huntington Police Department, retiring in 1984 as a detective captain, and later worked as a child abuse investigator for the Indiana Welfare Department. After moving to Warsaw in 1989, he was employed as vice president of collections at Lake City Bank, in Warsaw. He was a member of the F.O.P. Lodge, in Huntington.

He was born Dec. 2, 1941, in Lockport, NY, to Ralph E. and Opal M. Obenour Dolby. He married Ruth Minniear on June 12, 1965, in Huntington, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Jeff Dolby, of Huntington; a daughter, Dawn Marie (Frankie Nelson) Dolby, of Chicago, IL; a brother, Pauldene Dolby, of Markle; and four grandchildren, Blake Dolby, Carlos Dolby, Jayden Dolby and Destiny Dolby.

Calling is Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, from 10 a.m. to noon, with a service following at noon, at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington.
