Joan Rivers, 86, of Warren, IN, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Heritage Pointe, in Warren.
Mrs. Rivers, a former resident of Marion, retired from Farmers Bank & Trust, where she had been employed for 28 years. She had previously owned J&J Shell, in Converse. She was a member of the Converse Church of Christ and past matron of the Eastern Star in Converse.
She was born in Fishersburg to Leslie B. and Mary Harmon Teeters.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Summers and Karol (Rod) Wardwell, both of Marion; a son, Gary (Connie) Rivers, of Mishawaka; three sisters, Janet Behny, of Peru; Thresa Collier, of Marion; and Patricia Males, of Pendleton; a brother, Jerry (Terri) Fager, of Hastings, MI; seven grandchildren, Tana (Jeff) Bowland, Leslie Summers and Cory Summers, all of Marion; Scott (Kathie) Rivers, of South Bend; Christy Stephens, of Swayzee; Jason (Karen) Wardwell, of Fort Wayne; and Rodney (Kate) Wardwell, of Enid, OK; two stepgrandchildren, Brad (Mary Jo) Meier, of Mishawaka, and Chris (Amy) Meier, of Newark, OH; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-greatgrandchild.
A service was held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, Marion, with John Miller officiating. Burial was at Brookside Cemetery, in Lapel.
