Marching Vikes take top spot in Fall Festival Parade

The Huntington North High School Marching Vikes won the overall trophy in the Roanoke Fall Festival Parade, which was held on Saturday, Sept. 8.

The commander's trophy went to a 1944 World War II Willy's Jeep owned by Rex Larkey.

Other awards went to:
• Floats - MarkleBank, first place.

• Antique vehicles - 1925 Model T Ford owned by James Williams, first place.

• Motorized vehicles - Seminary United Meth- odist Church, first place.

Most unusual - Waggin' Tails 4-H Dog Club.
Clowns - Joy Pleasers.
Horses - Fritcha Heating and Plumbing.
