The Huntington University men's basketball team went into the half of its season-opener against host University of St. Francis (IL) trailing by just five points, but struggled to keep things close in the second half, losing 86-60.

Shane Merryman led the Foresters with 21 points and grabbed six rebounds. Tyler Ault chipped-in with 12 points and Stephen Jones dished out three assists.

Huntington, 0-1, was outscored 53-32 in the second half.

Chris Miller was the Saints' leading scorer with 28 points.
