Businesses in downtown Roanoke will hold their holiday open houses during the Holiday Gift Extravaganza on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9 and 10.

Most stores will be open until 8 p.m. both evenings.
Shoppers can participate in a "shop hop contest" with a chance to win gift certificates and coupons for local businesses. Several businesses will feature special events.
