The Huntington University women's basketball team blew host Berea College off the court, 80-39, on Friday, Nov. 16, in the first round of the Berea College Pepsi Classic.
Improving to 5-0 on the season, the Foresters built a 34-20 lead after the first half, then threw in a 46-19 second half as Head Coach Lori Culler emptied her bench.
Sara Miller-Jennings and Allison Greene led HU with 18 and 17 points, respectively. Kelsey Hubble added 10 points, Pazia Speed had nine and Amelia Recker and Taylor Foley each scored eight.
Miller-Jennings' scoring effort came primarily a the free-throw line, where she hit 12 of 13.
The senior guard also pulled down a game-high eight boards as the Foresters dominated the glass to the tune of 48-21.
Anna Loveless led Berea with 10 points.
HU hit 24 of 56 shots from the field for 42.9 percent, including going 15 of 25 for 60 percent in the second half.
The Foresters added 28 successes in 37 shots from the charity stripe.
Berea, 1-3, hit 14 of 40 shots from the field for 35 percent and went just 3 of 9 at the free-throw line for 33.3 percent.
