Clyde "Stan" Morgan, 83, of Warren, IN, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at 5:15 p.m. at Heritage Pointe, in Warren.
Mr. Morgan, a 1947 graduate of Stivers High School, served stateside as a corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Kettering (OH) Police Department from 1957 until 1981, when he retired as a captain. He had served as a hospice volunteer and bookkeeper and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He was born Sept. 14, 1929, in Dayton, OH, to Clyde Clifton and Mattie Melton Morgan. He married Avice Morrison on Sept. 3, 1949, in Dayton, OH. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Sheila Vogel, of Warren, and Sharon (Truman) Burger, of Hudson, FL; three grandchildren, Erin (Robert) Harlan, of Andrews, and Rachel Niehas and Mathew Niehas, both of Springboro, OH; and a great-granddaughter.
A service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at 10 a.m. in Applegate Chapel at Heritage Pointe, 801 Huntington Ave., Warren. Gerald Moreland will officiate.
