Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC has honored Huntington employee Lori Mickley with a 2013 Excellence in Bendix Leadership Award, recognizing her outstanding contribution, talents and commitment.
Mickley, a manager of quality and product safety, has been with Bendix for nearly 11 years.
The highest individual achievement a Bendix employee can receive, the annual Excellence in Bendix Leadership Award recognizes employees who exemplify leadership each day in their behavior and actions, whether or not they hold a leadership title or manage others in their everyday role.
Recipients are nominated by their peers and recommended by their managers for their ability to bring to life the vital leadership characteristics of quality, teamwork, results and excellence. The award is now in its sixth year.
Mickley joined Bendix in September 2002 as a quality engineer and advanced to the role of quality manager in 2005. She has personally driven implementation of quality systems and product safety programs.
Her initiative, creative use of resources and high standards have significantly improved the awareness and implementation of a quality culture throughout the manufacturing campus during the past three years.
Mickley is a resident of Huntington. She graduated from Indiana University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry.
