"The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde," a classic tale of terror, is coming to the Pulse Opera House, in Warren, and auditions for the play will be taking place Sunday, July 28, at 2 p.m.
Roles are available for four men 18 years old and up and two women, also 18 years old and up. The roles include Rachel Lanyon, an artist; Inspector Newcomen, of Scotland Yard; Jeanne Poole, Dr. Jekyll's housekeeper; Dr. Henry Jekyll, practicing physician and medical researcher; Dr. David Lanyon, Rachel's brother, a surgeon and professor of medicine; Dowling, Lanyon's butler; Mr. Edward Hyde, a man with "no visible means of employment" (doubled by actor playing Jekyll); and Lord Danvers Carew, M.P. (doubled by actor playing Dowling).
Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Rehearsals will be held Monday through Friday evenings beginning Aug. 12.
Performances are Sept. 20, 21, 26, 27, 28 and Oct. 3, 4, 5.
The Pulse Opera House is located at 127-1/2 Wayne St.
Rebecca Short portrays Enid Arabella in the musical "Buccaneers" at the Pulse Opera House. Performances are July 25, 26, 27 and Aug. 1, 2, 3, at 8 p.m. The Pulse will soon be holding auditions for its next production, "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde."
