Crestview, Riverview split cross country meet

Crestview and Riverview split a cross country meet on Monday, Oct. 1, with Crestview winning the girls' race and Riverview taking the boys' race.
The Crestview girls won 24-31.
Riverview's Aleyah Kelsey captured individual honors by winning in 12:32, but Crestview captured five of the next seven places to get the win.
Chloe Scheiber was tops for Crestview with second place in 12:58. Meagan Thomas was third in 13:09.32, Jackie Ness was fifth in 13:15, Jenna Henline was sixth in 13:15 and Emma Melcher was eighth in 13:26.
For Riverview, back-up for Kelsey came from Cadee Harmon, fourth in 13:09.63. R. Buzzard was seventh in 13:26.33, Kyler Hoopingarner was ninth in 13:29 and Macy Lange was 10th in 13:36.
Riverview got five of the top eight spots to win the boys' competition, led by J.J. Whicker taking second to champion Dillon Valenti of Crestview. Brice Spahr was fourth, Aiden Eckert fifth, Andrew Kaylor was seventh and Matt Karst was eighth.
Valenti's win came in 11:30. He was followed across the finish line for Crestview by David Spencer in third, Dawson Hertel in sixth, Jacob Foster in 13th and Ethan Kropf in 14th.
