Placing all five scoring runners among the top 11 scoring finishers enabled Huntington North High School to repeat as Marion Girls' Cross Country Sectional champion on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Indiana Wesleyan University.

The Lady Vikes repeated in rather handy fashion, scoring 35 points for less than half the total of runner-up Eastbrook, which had 72.

Northfield was third with 84 points, Southern Wells was fourth with 87 and Oak Hill took the final Marion regional qualifying spot with 103 points.

Regional will be Saturday, Oct. 13, at 10:30 a.m., again at IWU.

Freshman Hannah Stoffel sparked the Lady Vikings with her fourth place finish in 19:53.56. Senior Robyn Karst was fifth in 20:01.84, senior Kayla Patrick was sixth in 20:23.50, another frosh, Marisssa Jamison, was ninth in 20:42.75 and senior Karson Rowe was 11th in 20:57.58.

Sophomore Emily Eherenman was 12th in 21:02.78 and senior Marie Ditzler was 17th in 21:11.52 to complete the HNHS squad.

Shallen Lenhart of Oak Hill was the individual champion, crossing the finish line in 19:04.56 to beat runner-up Jenna Halderman of Northfield by almost 10 seconds. Junior Sophie Seward of Eastbrook was third in 19:23.46.

Haley Heath of Southwood, which did not field a complete team, placed eighth overall and advanced to the regional as an individual as the top 15 individuals also earn a regional slot.
