HU women's tennis team ends with shutout loss

The Huntington University women's tennis team ended its season with a 0-9 defeat to host Tiffin University on Wednesday, Oct. 10.
In singles play, Cassie Kasicki fell to Malaika Messi, 1-6, 0-6, at first singles. Aleksandra Spasic went down to Valentine Mazzola at second singles, 2-6, 2-6. Jessica Abel, at third singles, struggled against Anna Scherting, losing 1-6, 0-6. Ciara Smith didn't have an answer for Abigail Schuster at fourth singles, suffering a 1-6, 1-6 setback. Amber Bos came up empty against Chelsea Beck at fifth singles, 0-6, 0-6. Rounding out singles play, Madison Johnson was turned back 2-6, 3-6 by Renee Mattson in the sixth match.
Kasicki and Spasic battled with Messi and Mazzola in the first doubles match, but lost 5-8. The duos of Abel and Smith and Johnson and Bos each fell to their respective opponents, 1-8.
The Foresters finished their season with three wins against 10 losses.
