Crestview 7th grade volleyball team falls in tourney championship

The Crestview Middle School seventh grade volleyball team won its first match to play for the championship at the NELSMC tournament at Warsaw High School on Saturday, Oct. 13, but fell short at bringing home the title.

The Cougars defeated Lakeview 25-22, 19-25, 15-12 in the first match.

Kaylee Platt had 13 service points and Katie Jamison had 10 to go with six spikes. Karmen Koch, Rileigh Johnson and Johanna Dohrman each had six service points, with Koch and Johnson also contributing eight and nine spikes, respectively.

Crestview fell in a competitive championship match to Lincoln, 19-25, 22-25.

Koch had 12 service points, Jamison had 9 and both produced nine spikes.

The Cougars also got contributions from Johnson, who had seven service points, and Platt, who had five spikes.

The team finishes the season at 13-5.
