The Huntington University women's basketball team and host Taylor University played a tight first half on Saturday, Feb. 9, but things got out of hand in the second when the Trojans outscored the Foresters 41-18, hanging Huntington with a 67-41 loss.

The Foresters' 41 points is their lowest offensive output of the season, as the team made only 13 of 53 shots for 24.5 percent.

Sarah Miller-Jennings managed 14 points for Huntington, 15-12, 7-9 in the Crossroads League.

The Foresters trailed only 26-23 at halftime before the Trojans' barrage of points in the second half.

Three players reached double figures for Taylor, which shot 55.3 percent for the game on 26 of 47 shooting. Huntington resident Becca Daniels netted 8 of 9 from the field for a game-high 19 points. Erika Redweik followed with 14 points on 7 of 10 shooting and Erin Guarneri supplied 12 points.

Taylor Foley pulled down a game-high nine rebounds for the Foresters, who topped the Trojans on the offensive boards, 11-3, but were beaten badly on the defensive boards, 29-17.

Miller-Jennings and Lauren Meese each had four assists for HU, and Pazia Speed had three steals.
