The Huntington Parks & Recreation Department will be partnering with Clear Creek Golf Course to provide golf lessons to ladies age 18 and up this summer.

Two classes will be offered: beginners, for women who have never played or had lessons before; and intermediate, for ladies who have played or taken lessons but want to perfect their skills and learn more about the game.

The lessons will be held on Thursday evenings at Clear Creek Golf Course from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 6, 13, 20, 27 and July 11 and 18.

There is a fee per person for the six classes.

The classes will be following the curriculum and using equipment from the SNAG (Starting New At Golf) system.

Participants in the beginner class will learn all the basics of golf, putting, chipping, pitching and tee shots as well as golf etiquette.  The basics will be taught using the modified SNAG equipment, then participants will progress into using regulation equipment and will move to the course.

In the intermediate class, participants will have a refresher course on putting, chipping, pitching and tee shots and will spend time on the course perfecting those shots with instruction along the way. Etiquette will also be covered in the intermediate class.

For more information on the classes, or to register, call Jennifer Hotchkiss at the Parks Department at 358-2323.

Register early as the class size is limited.
